Output Resolutions Explained
Every scan is delivered in one of two standard resolutions. Choose based on how you intend to use your files.
Standard Resolution
JPEGShort side: 8" (2400px) @ 300dpi JPEG. Approx 5.2MB file size. Perfect for web, social and small prints.
High Resolution
16-BIT TIFFShort side: 16" (4800px) @ 300dpi 8-bit TIFF. Approx 85MB file size. Ideal for large prints and archival use.
Film Roll Scanning Uncut Roll
Scanned as a full uncut roll. Add cutting or TIFF output for a small surcharge.

Hasselblad Flextight X5 Scanning
The highest-resolution film scanning we offer. The Flextight X5 resolves every last detail in your negative. You'll see the difference when you print big.
Choose RAW 3F for total control: Hasselblad's uncompressed native file, straight off the scanner. Or our Finished scan: a print-ready, colour-graded and dust-spotted AdobeRGB 16-Bit TIFF.
- Dmax 4.9: huge dynamic range that holds shadow and highlight detail to full capacity.
- Glass-free optical path with patented "virtual drum" focusing and a Rodenstock lens: sharper edge to edge than any flatbed.

Individually cut 35mm frames can be scanned at up to 8000 PPI, producing an image of approximately 11,339 × 7,559 pixels — a maximum print size of approximately 47 × 31 inches.
The Flextight X5 supports up to 8000 PPI for 35mm film, 3200 PPI for medium-format film and 2040 PPI for 4×5 film, with 16-bit colour output.
Note for Mac users: FlexColor (required to open 3F files) runs on 32-bit systems only. macOS Catalina and later won't run it, so we recommend a Windows PC for 3F work. Tutorial: Opening 3F Files in FlexColor. No compatible system? Choose the Finished TIFF option instead.
* File sizes are approximate and based on colour images. Black-and-white files are generally smaller. Actual pixel dimensions and file sizes may vary slightly according to the exposed film area, cropping, film holder and image content.

Archival Print & Artwork Scanning
We scan reflective images up to a maximum size of A3, using a flatbed scanner or copy stand depending on your original's size. Our archival scans include colour correction, dusting and minor spot healing so they're ready for reproduction and print output.
If your original print or artwork is heavily damaged and requires further retouching, we can provide you with a quote.
