Developed film negatives cut into strips and sleeved, on a light table at Rewind Photo Lab

This is what comes back with your photos: your negatives, cut and sleeved.

How It Works

  1. Keep the camera closed

Don't open the back or pull the film out. Daylight wipes your photos. We take the film out in the dark.

  2. Drop it off or post it

Walk in to our Alexandria or Wollongong store, use the 24/7 drop box at our Alexandria front door, or fill in our online order form and post the camera to us.

  3. We develop and scan it

We develop your film in our own lab, and a technician colour-balances every photo by hand.

  4. Get your photos

We email you a link to your online gallery, so you can save your photos to your phone or computer. Your negatives are kept for you to collect, or posted back.

Post it to us

From anywhere in Australia. Fill in the online order form and you'll get an RPL reference number. Pack the whole camera in a padded bag or small box with that number, and post it to Rewind Photo Lab, 338-356 Mitchell Road, Alexandria NSW 2015. Keep your tracking number.

Disposable Camera Questions

The things people ask us most at the counter.

Where can I get a disposable camera developed in Sydney or Wollongong?

At either of our stores. Walk in to 338-356 Mitchell Road, Alexandria (Sydney) or Suite 30/157 Crown Street, Wollongong. Both are open Monday to Friday 10am to 6pm and Saturday 10am to 2pm. Live somewhere else in Australia? Post it to us instead.

Can I drop off a disposable camera after hours?

Yes, in Alexandria. Disposable cameras fit through the 24/7 drop box at our front door, 338-356 Mitchell Road. Fill in the online order form first, write your RPL order number on an envelope (they are in the black box by the door) and post the whole camera through the silver mail slot. How the drop box works.

How much does it cost to develop a disposable camera?

$20 to develop it and scan every photo. That is what most people choose. You can also get high-res scans for $28, develop, scan and 4x6" prints for $36.50, or develop only (negatives, no scans) for $12.

A standard 27-exposure disposable is priced as a 24-exposure roll, and there is no extra fee for taking the film out. All prices include GST.

Do I need to take the film out of the camera?

No. Bring us the whole camera and don't open the back. Daylight wipes the film. We take the film out in the dark at our lab.

Will I get digital copies of my photos?

Yes. With develop and scan, we put your photos in your Rewind online gallery and email you a download link. You can save them straight to your phone or computer. Standard scans are good for sharing and for prints up to 8x12".

Prefer a USB? Bring your own or buy one from us in store.

Do I get my negatives back?

Yes. Your negatives come back cut and sleeved, ready to collect from the store or posted back if you chose return shipping. We store them free for 30 days. The negative is your original, so you can rescan or print from it years from now.

Do I get the camera back?

No. Once the film is out, the empty plastic body stays with us. What comes back to you is your photos and your negatives.

My disposable has been sitting in a drawer for years. Can you still develop it?

Yes, bring it in. Old film often still holds a picture, although the colours can look faded or grainy. It costs the same as fresh film. If a very old roll needs special handling, we'll tell you before we start.

If the roll turns out blank, we automatically refund the difference between develop and scan and develop only.

Can you develop waterproof, flash or black and white disposables?

Yes. We develop disposables from any brand, including Kodak, Fujifilm, Ilford and Polaroid. Waterproof cameras like the Kodak Sport and flash cameras like the Kodak Flash 800 have the same 35mm colour film inside, so they cost the same. Ilford XP2 black and white disposables are developed in the same process as colour, so they cost the same too.

Can I get a disposable developed at Kmart or Officeworks?

Some Kmart photo counters and Officeworks stores send disposables away to be developed, and you get digital files back. Officeworks says your negatives are not returned.

With us, your film is developed and scanned by our own team, a technician colour-balances every photo by hand, and you get your negatives back.

I have lots of disposables from a wedding or party. Can you do them all?

Yes. Each camera is priced as its own roll, so it is $20 per camera for develop and scan, however many you bring. Bring them in together, or list them all on one online order form and post them in one box.

How do I post my disposable camera to you?

Fill in our online order form first and you'll get an RPL reference number. Pack the whole camera in a padded bag or small box with that number inside, and post it to Rewind Photo Lab, 338-356 Mitchell Road, Alexandria NSW 2015. Keep your tracking number.

Can I get prints of my disposable photos?

Yes. Choose develop, scan and 4x6" prints for $36.50 when you drop it off or fill in the order form. Or order prints from your scans any time later through our online print portal, printed in our Sydney lab.
